Leo knew better. He was a design student, after all. He knew the difference between a vector and a raster, and he knew the difference between a legitimate installer and a trap. He knew that X7 was an older version, released years ago, and finding a legitimate free copy was impossible. But desperation has a way of lowering one's defenses.
He skipped the official Corel site; he didn't have the budget for a subscription right now. He clicked on the third link down. It was a forum he vaguely recognized, a place where digital scavengers gathered.
He ran the installer.
