In vitro studies utilizing isolated rat aortic rings demonstrated that RHTS-034 effectively relaxes vascular smooth muscle pre-contracted with either KCl (depolarization) or endothelin-1. The IC50 for vasorelaxation was found to be significantly lower than that of amlodipine alone.
