Abbott Elementary S01e09 Bd5 !!top!! -
The central storyline of "Step Class" revolves around Janine’s attempt to start a step team at Abbott. Like many of Janine’s well-intentioned projects, the goal is to enrich the students' lives, but the execution hits a snag when the requisite funding isn't there. True to form, Janine tries to solve the problem with sheer willpower and optimism, only to realize that the school’s infrastructure (and the district’s budget) is firmly against her.
Parallel to this, we see a masterclass in comedic writing from Ava Coleman, the hilariously inept principal. While Janine struggles with the step team, Ava inadvertently sparks a school-wide rivalry when she encourages Jacob to critique the Black History Month assembly. This B-plot highlights the show's ability to tackle racial dynamics and teacher sensitivity with a deft, satirical touch that never feels preachy—just painfully awkward. abbott elementary s01e09 bd5
