This setup is brilliant for two reasons. First, it maintains continuity for those paying attention to the wider lore. Second, it allows for total creative freedom. Because these characters are "monsters"—a werewolf, a vampire, a bride of Frankenstein, a gorgon, and a robot—the body count can be higher, and the injuries more grotesque.
