Portable Appz !new!
A portable application is a software program designed to operate without a formal installation process. Unlike conventional software that embeds files, settings, and dependencies (such as DLLs and registry keys) deep within the operating system, a portable app encapsulates everything it needs—executables, configuration files, and user data—within a single directory. This folder can reside on a USB flash drive, an external hard disk, or even a synced cloud folder. When the application is launched, it reads its settings from this local directory; when closed, it leaves the host computer’s registry and temporary folders unchanged. Notable examples include portable versions of Firefox, VLC Media Player, LibreOffice, and KeePass.
