Work from light to dark. You can always add more pigment, but you can't lift it easily once dry.

Stippling uses dots. More dots = darker value. Fewer dots = lighter value. There are no lines—only density.

Scraping and lifting involve removing ink from the paper to create highlights or correct mistakes.
