The film takes place in 1600s Ireland, during the Plantation of Ireland. The story follows two sisters, Robyn and Mebh. Robyn is a 10-year-old girl who lives with her father, Red, a hunter, in a small village on the edge of a forest. Mebh is a free-spirited Wolfwalker, a mythical creature that can transform into a wolf.
