Xtool — Precompressor Settings

Controls how close adjacent scan lines are rendered.

The Xtool precompressor can be used in a variety of applications, including:

| Material | Recommended Precompressor Setting | Why | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | 80-100% | Prevents charring and warping. | | Leather (genuine) | 30-50% | Maintains texture without over-burning. | | Fabric / Denim | 90-100% | Stops the laser from cutting through on low power. | | Acrylic (cast) | 0-20% | You want crisp edges; precompression can make edges rounded. | | Basswood ply (3mm) | 50% (Default) | Safe starting point. | | High-res photo engrave | 0% | Max detail needed. |
