Quick-Start Guide: DAZ 3D Studio 1. What is DAZ Studio?

Free 3D scene creation and rendering software. Uses a library of ready-made 3D assets (figures, clothing, props, environments). Great for character art, illustration, concept art, and indie game assets. Renders with NVIDIA Iray (photorealistic) or 3Delight.

2. First Steps – Installation & Setup

Create a free DAZ 3D account – needed to download assets. Install DAZ Central (or use DAZ Install Manager). Install DAZ Studio and the Startup Assets (Genesis figures, basic lights, shaders). Set content directory paths :

Go to: Edit > Preferences > Content > Content Directory Manager Add folders where your DAZ content is stored.
