Estonia has a small but proud animation tradition, mainly stemming from (puppet animation, est. 1957) and Joonisfilm (traditional/digital animation, est. 1971) in Tallinn. Unlike Disney or Ghibli, “Eesti multikad” are not a single genre but a loose body of ~500 short films (and a handful of features).
