: Ensure the air pistol is unloaded and the safety is engaged.

Pull the slide fully rearward to reveal a flat spring steel clip (sometimes called a "keeper") located under the rear of the slide. Use needle-nose pliers or a hooked tool to pull this clip straight up and out.
