In Season 2, Sam and her friends face new challenges and misadventures as they navigate their careers and personal lives. The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Lizzy Caplan, Craig Robinson, John Michael Higgins, and Jane Lynch.

Season 2 consists of 10 episodes that further explore the "depressing but raucously funny" reality of gig work in Hollywood. Critics praised the season for its sharp dialogue and commitment to its structure, where every episode takes place entirely at a different catered event—ranging from a "Precious Moments" school fundraiser to a Steve Guttenberg birthday bash.

There are cult comedies, and then there’s Party Down . The Starz series about a rag-tag team of Hollywood wannabes slinging soft drinks and mini quiches never got the ratings it deserved during its original 2009–2010 run. But like a bad tray of shrimp cocktail left out in the sun, it has only gotten better with age.

The second season of "Party Down" premiered on March 26, 2011, on Comedy Central. The season consists of 10 episodes and follows the same cast of characters as the first season. The show's main character, Sam Coffey (played by Lizzy Caplan), is still working at the catering company, while also trying to make it big as a comedian.
